FORT WASHINGTON – After a series of high-level tournaments to start the season, vwin德赢娱乐’s wrestling team hosted Inter-Ac League foe Springside Chestnut Hill Academy for the first dual match of the year. While many of the bouts were taken by forfeit, the Patriots came out with wins in four of the five contests, 拿火柴, 54-36.

“I think we did great,” tri-captain Robert Leeds ’25 said. “We wrestled really well, and I think we’re just getting better every day.” 

Leeds was one of the GA grapplers who did not get into the action on Friday, along with Justin Farnsworth ’27, 亚当·塞德曼，27岁, Eric Catenacci, 26岁, 还有27岁的艾丹·李. 

The Patriots got out to a 48-0 advantage before the Blue Devils got on the board. Farnsworth earned a win by forfeit, while tri-captain Jack Baron ’26 won by fall 24 seconds into his bout at 113lbs. Shai Sabag ’27 also won his bout at 120lbs by fall, winning in 17 seconds. Following four forfeits, Jack Breme ’26 won by fall at 150lbs and tri-captain Luke Sugalski ’25 won by fall at 165lbs.

Jhais Williams ’25 and Lee both wrestled in exhibition matches, with Williams winning his by fall. 

vwin德赢娱乐 faces a quick turnaround, wrestling at Bissel Tournament at Hill School on 1月. 6. Despite facing minimal time off, Leeds feels confident in the group.

“We’re feeling good, but we still have a lot to improve upon,” Leeds said. “Hopefully we can get some good rest tonight, get something to eat after weigh-in tomorrow, get in a good warm up, and wrestle our best. We don’t want people to see us as just a good team, we want to be a great team. We’re going to keep aiming for the top.”
